The final concert of the project “Bulgarian Folklore – Timeless Value” was met with great interest from the audience.
On 28.07.2023 on the stage of the National Cultural Centre four ensembles for spring folklore and the performers from PFA “Strandja” performed side by side.
Participants were the Ensemble for Spring Folklore at the National Chitalishte “Prosveta 1929” – s. Lyulyakovo, Men’s folklore group at the ensemble “Zornitsa” at the Ch. Stara Zagora, Women’s singing group for authentic folklore at “Nadezhda 1926” – village. Gergevets, Sliven region, Folklore dance ensemble “Thracian Kitka” at “Sun 1928” – village of St. Petersburg. Gavrailovo and “Svetlina 1926” – s. Seliminovo, as well as the Professional Folklore Ensemble “Strandja”.
For the first time on stage was combined the presentation of works of authentic Bulgarian folklore, performed by groups for authentic singing and dancing folklore, with the presentation of the same works by the performers of PFA “Strandja” in the form of processed folklore. The processing and arrangement of the folklore music is the work of the composer Georgi Andreev – Director of the National Folklore Ensemble “Philip Kutev”, the processing of one solo song by the concertmaster of PFA “Strandja” – Christian Hristov, and the choreography and direction – Mario Egov – Chief Artistic Director of PFA “Strandja”.
The concert is realized under the project “Bulgarian Folklore – a Timeless Value”, with the financial support of the National Culture Fund under the Programme for Restoration and Development of State, Regional and Municipal Cultural Institutions.
