Chief Artistic Director
Mario Egov, chief artistic director of PFA “Strandja” – Burgas, started dancing Bulgarian folk dances only at 6. Graduated from AMTII “Prof. Asen Diamandiev” – Plovdiv , in 1994. As a student he was a performer in PFA “Thrace”.
Returning to Burgas, he continued his performing activity in PFA “Strandja”. During this period he founded the Children’s Folklore Ensemble “The Three Times”. In 1998 he became choreographer of PFA “Strandja”. Since 2008 he has been its chief artistic director.
In the last few years she has been a lecturer at Varna University of Performing Arts, speciality “Bulgarian Folk Choreography”. Among its awards are the Golden Lyre and the Crystal Lyre, the highest accolade that can be won for dance folklore.
